The first day of my last period was 22 august. I had unprotected sex on the 14th september. Don't have my period up to now.

I did a urine pregnancy test on the 9th october, which was negative. I was advised to go see a gyno if i dont have my period by oct 20.

But i dont know what to do! I don't have a job (just finished school and looking). My parents dont know. My b/f knows - he only just got a job and they're still training him, so he's not home. I can't handle a baby right now. Also who is going to hire a *young* pregnant woman? My parents are not going to stand for it, neither my b/f's parents.

My b/f and I plan to get married, but we can't do so now. With his job and training, he's going to be away most of the time. I still need to get a job....

What should I do?

Thanks for all your responses so far.

I just want to add a couple things. My family and my boyfriend's family are both large and well-known families, and in our case and culture, there is such a thing as bringing shame and disgrace to your family. Lots of people are watching me also, because of my background.

I am also extremely worried about getting a job. There is one i may possibly get, but it will mean i will be very far from home without my parents for support, and i can be called out at any time of day or night (the idea of which is stressing me out).

My b/f and I have always used condoms, except on some occasions where the sex was very impromptu. When we started havign sex, we had discussed what we would do if we were ever to become pregnant, before we were married. The conclussion was, if at the time we were in a postion to get married, do so and have the child. If not, have an abortion. But an abortion is kinda hard to come by in this country

Calm down until you know for sure. If you freak out it could make your period even later. Secondly, you need to sit down w/ your b/f and discuss your options....and you have many to choose from. Just make the decision that's best for you....you'll know what to do. And by the way...your parents may get upset w/ you but they will always love you.

if you really do not want this baby than you and your boyfriend should look into adoption agencies. But please give this tremendous amounts of thought.

I got pregnant (unplanned) when I was 19. I was scared too... and then terrified when I found out I was having twins! I thought my parents would be furious, but they weren't at all. They were tremendously supportive and have never been ashamed of me.

I won't lie, your life will be harder, your relationship with you bf may not survive the stress, but I couldn't imagine my life without my kids who are now 5 years old. As for getting a job, obviously you're not showing yet; you are not required to tell your employer that you are pregnant (or may be pregnant) unless the job would be harmful to the baby.

Before you consider an abortion, let me ask you something. If you knew your parents were to react with love and support and were going to help you and your baby, would you still be thinking about an abortion? It seems like a terrible reason to choose an abortion just because you're scared of mommy and daddy.

first of all you want to go and make sure you are actually pregnant. if this is just a false alarm you are doing a lot of worrying about nothing. if you are pregnant the first thing i would do is talk to your parents. i am sure that would be hard for you but you would be surprised how understanding parents can be when their child needs help. After you have told your parents no matter how they react or what the tell you to do you need to take some serious time and figure out what you think is right for you to do. if you decide you are not ready for a child then you know your options. follow your gut feeling and do what you think is best. good luck!

I wouldn't wait to go to the doctor go now.If the test said negative you probaly aren't pregnant. The tests are really accurate(when I took my test it was bright pink immediately). You could just have something wrong with you that's not a baby so go as soon as you can.Tell your parents you have a yeast infection or something if you are pregnant the doctor can not tell your parents. If you don't have the money go to your local family planning they will test you for free and if your not pregnant they can examine you and tell you if something else is wrong. If you are pregnant try finding a job through a temp service so your not required to work permanately and you can have all the time off you need for your pregnancy. You can also file for the medical card, wic, and if need be welfare to help until you get on your feet.Whatever happens good luck.

You need to get to a doc. even if it is to the health department. They can help you get on your feet and help you explore the option of adoption.
It is not up to your parents nor is it up to your b/f parents. The two of you laid down and made the baby (if your pregnant) and now the two of you must get together and make this work.
If your are not pregnant then you need to look into had an IUD, getting on the pill, and/or using a condom. Don't think I'm being hard on you but if you can't even tell your parents what is going on then how do you think that you can be a grown up young lady, and take responsibility for your adult actions.
Abstinence is probably a good idea at this point because if you don't want to grow up ant be an adult then don't participate in adult activities!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't worry about breaking your leg before you do ,do you ? And there is a good chance it will never happen. Then don't you worry about being pregnant, when there is a good chance that you are not. I know that is a bad example, but It seems to me that if you had worried this much about getting pregnant before having unprotected sex, this would not be a problem now. Calm down, see what happens. Those tests are very accurate. Being this upset before you know for sure only aggravates the problem. BE MORE CAREFUL FROM NOW ON !!!

If you got a job now and didn't tell you are pregnant(since you are not showing yet) then they can't just fire you for being pregnant later.
So make that your first point, and then stop stressing about being pregnant if the prenancy test was negative then maybe the stress is causing the no show of your period.
Just go and find a job and then when oct 20th arrives you can go see your ob/gyn

Hello there, first thing you must do is sit down with a cuppa and calm down a bit,you need to confirm your fear's then you can talk to your boyfriend about having an abortion, then it's up to you if you want both parents told, as they need not no as it's all very confidential, but please don't go through an unwanted pregnancy and you are still too young to be tied down with an unwanted baby, plus why should you have to? as it's you and your boyfriends life we are talking about,so i wish you all the best and good luck but I'm sure it will all work out fine in the end,and you will both have a long and happy life together

You should have thought about some of these things before you had unprotected sex..sorry, it sounds like your pregnant. You have to make your own decisions, but I guess its time for you to seriously look for a job, take responsibility. Do your parents know you have sex? How old are you? It's time to tell them its a possibility you might be pregnant..and try to take a test over again to know for sure. Good Luck!!!

First of all stress can cause a woman to miss or be late with her menstrual cycle. I know this because I went 3 months without a period, and I wasn't pregnant and that is what my Dr told me. Take another test, relax see what happens.
