Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7th. However if you are one of those people who are apt to get caught up in something and forget to vote you can request an absentee ballot - you do not need an excuse. Many states allow people to go to their Election Commission office and cast ballots from about 30 days prior to the election. You should find out if this is available in your state - and if it is - go vote.

The first Tuesday in November is the last day to vote.
My state offers early voting starting 15 days early. I vote early and avoid the rush.

Democrats go on the first Wednesday of November and Republicans on the first Tuesday
