Greetings! I have "Contemporary's GED" the 1994 edition, and I was wondering if it would be at all helpful in studying for a GED exam now. It has sections on Writing Skills, Social Studies, Science, Literature and the Arts, and Mathematics. Have parts of the GED test been dropped or added? How would it differ nowadays? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

It will be somewhat useful but I know from taking the GED test in Ohio not to long ago that the test here has definitely changed in recent years, I believe due to some Federal mandate. You should be able to get a more recent study book from your local library and this is what I would recommend.

Hi. I would think that many things have changed in 12 years. I would suggest that you contact your states GED office and ask them for specifics. To be on the safe side, I would get a new book. Good luck on getting that GED!!!

Consider it outdated. The tests have changed significantly since 1994. Invest in your future and buy a new prep book, or spend a lot of time reading a new one at Barnes & Noble.

Don't think math, Literature, or writing skills have changed significantly in the past 10 years, though you might want to obtain additional info in the science and social stufies areas. You might go to the local library and check to make sure your book is current with the info they have.

It probably wouldn't material in statistical books changes every year. Thats ehy colleges rearly se the same text book twice. 1994 would be nothing but a thing of the past with out dated material.
