have been trying to burn a disc and the cd-rom doesn't work. In troubleshooting, i get a message saying it is working properly but cannot find the driver. So basically the computer recognizes that the cd-rom is there but it can't find the driver that makes it work.
I removed a Kodak photo program and when I finished, thats when the cd-rom stopped working.

turn off system and remove side unplug the cd-rom do a restart until windows is fully loaded then turn off system and then plug cd-rom back in start back up see if it's ok. if that didn't work download the latest firmware for it what ever you do don't mess with the regions leave that where it is.

Sup, go to start > my computer > right click on the drive to fix > then click on properties > then click on update driver or driver roll back. Push come to shove, look up the name of you cd rom on yahoo search then from the manufactures web site go to DL's then look for drivers.

if your pc can see the cd drive, but the drive does not see the cd`s , it means one of 2 things; either a bad cd , or your drive went bad and needs to be changed.
