like i need to be working,but i dont know the required documents i need to posses before i can work legally in the U.S.

Since you are a legally Admitted Immigrant to USA, to work you will probably need all of the following.
a) A Social Security Number that is almost a proof that you are allowed to work ( to get your Paycheck when you do get a job).
b) A Job Offer Letter ( so that you can actually get to do some work) from an Employer.
c) A Driver's License and a Car to drive to and from your work
( when you get a job ) .

you say your a legal US citizen, yet you don't know what you need to work here! Are you really here legally?

Your visa or your green card, along with a Social Security card.
