Jeans are hard to make out of blue ;-) I would buy a patron and see on the back cover how much would be needed. These days, you can have great jeans without making them yourself! Before making jeans or a skirt, I would try doing some modifications on old ones or buy some used one close to your needs and modify them. This would cost you less. I guess you would need at least 2m to make some new ones.

depends on what size you want to make - for average adult sixe jeans I would guess about 4 metres less for a skirt - you need to remember you need lots cause of the nap of the fabric with denim only goes one way
