Okay, so I decided to be Rainbow Brite for a Halloween party tonight... but couldn't afford to buy the packaged costume.

I have everything I need EXCEPT I couldn't find the arm and leg warmers. I bought 2 yards of rainbow fabric at Wal-Mart... I'm just not sure what would be the best way to make them with minimal sewing (I'm not the greatest seamstress.)

Could anyone provide step-by-step instructions or at least link me to something that could be helpful?

I'm not sure if this will work or not, but it's my only idea since I'm not good at sewing. Cut out the piece for each arm and leg, it should be a little loose, but not extremely so. Then sew each piece together on the long side. Put it over each arm or leg, then put a large rubber band or length of elastic at each end (ie at the top and bottom of each "leg warmer"), make sure you don't cut off your circulation by having it too tight. You can use a marker to color the rubber bands or elastic whatever color you want so it won't look obvious. I know that's kind of a lame idea, but it's how I made my plastic bag holder out of a dish towel, and when it's full of bags it kind of looks like a leg warmer.
