1. Network security is meant to be at a higher level than OS security. The network's security can control which systems are allowed access to which other systems as well as the ports to be used.

2. I believe there are existing drivers for all (or almost) possible network protocols and services. Of course some need to be purchased separately.

3. A network management system is a set of tools to identify bandwidth, router and general communication issues on top of monitoring inbound and outbound security.

4. It simply represents the software suite available to control DNS record creation, modification and propagation.

5. It's acronym almost says it all. If you need to link computers in a safe way, as in a local network, but need to do so through the Internet, you use VPN software/hardware on the different end to create a secure tunnel over the Internet.
