a fortnight ago i stepped on a peice of broken glass and very nastily cut my foot open. it was so bad that it resulted in me receiving 6 stitches. thing is though, the cut doesn't hurt so much now, but after a few days of doing it i realised i couldn't move or feel my big toe properly, the cut is just underneath the big toe, like on the joint. anyway at first i thought it was cause of the cut but now i'm not too sure and i am worried it may be broke, but how???
it was bruised at first but they have gone now, but my toe is very swollen and i am really struggling with walking on it. anyone help?

could be you have some nerve damage from the cut and in that case you would not have much feeling right now. But in a few weeks yes, I would definately get it looked at if still not much feeling in it. Good Luck and God Bless.

The edema of the area will restrict any motion, as well as create discomfort when attempting to move the area. Having the injury so close to the joint would also indicate there is some edema within the joint itself.

You have given no indication of the injury being anything more than a cut. Leaving anything broken a rather remote possibility.

Even if it is there is nothing that can be done. Toes are not put in splints the way fingers are splinted. The best that can be done is to tape it to another toe so as not to move it as it mends which might not be a good idea with the stiches. That why even though you had stiches they did not check for a broken bone. Check with the place you got the stiches to see if you could tape the toe.

you could have an infection in your toe. That's if it's swollen and puss coming out of it. But if it is broken there is not anything that a doctor can do about it you might just try wrapping it up with an ace bandage.

You might have had some nerve damage from the glass. You need to contact your General Healthcare Physican. Never damage is sometimes repairable if it is caught in time.

You may have a serious infection. If you can move it, it's not broken. Go see your doctor.

You need to go to your Dr and have this checked out,as it could be nerve damage,or if broken you will need an xray to confirm this,in the meantime REST it,and make that appointment NOW PLEASE
