The difference with Mothers love and personal love is that when it comes to mothers love its the love that your mother gives you like when your taking care of a baby and you dont want you to grow up..while in personal love you cant do anything to do with your mother like some certain stuff and the fact that you might have a baby or something when it comes even more personal and you sometimes have the chance to break that personal love unlike your mother love cuz your mother will always be your mother.

Answer is very simple. Mother's love is like a Tree, which gives your shade, food and protects you from all of bad environments. No matter if her childrens loves her or not or they might leave her alone one day, but she loves them in her entire life.

Personal love is like a Flower. Its sweet, gives you good time and help you understand what's happening arround you. Takes your life to new levels.

ok, i've just decided to edit and say - there are several types of love. All love is personal. tis personal cause it comes from you as the unique person/ individual.
When you have a mother's love, its your love towards your child
When you have friendly love, its love as a friend towards another
When you have sisterly / brotherly love, its towards a sibling.
When you love your pet, its your personal feelings towards your pet.
and so on and so on...
Love is always personal. If you love your work, its a personal feeling, if you do it for the money, then u dont love your job. very simple. no rocket science...
Why do you draw this sort of distinction, maybe someone has said something to you and they didnt quite bring their point across clearly?
When you love a kid and they feel smothered, thats not love, thats a selfish need to manipulate and let them not "grow" because u wanna keep them wrapped in cotton wool as your little "baby doll". its a selfish kind of love, love is proved in letting go, setting your child free to live life. trusting them to "make it on their own" helping them when they fall and get bruised, but knowing you let them learn why it is they fell to begin with. One can only grow if you make mistakes and learn from them, or you learn from others' mistakes. Let your kid live and learn and they'll appreciate you for it. Dont judge, we all make mistakes, just gentle guidance without trying to stifle and control. Best of wishes to you and the ones you love. tAke care.

I believe that a mother's love is basically pure, unconditional and instinctive. Personal love is more prone to influences of socialization, environment and other external factors.
