If they spoke more clearly, used the queen's English as I was taught at in my elocution classes in my years at Eton, reduced the speed considerably to a gait more slow and thoughtful.

Maybe, If they modelled their rapping style on maybe the delivery style of their favourite newsreader...being careful of their diction and trying not to slip into the parlance of the streets and the modern vernacular.

Well, I think they would find that they would stop having to ask this question...do you agree?

I am an american police officer - I have actually made some of these self-proclaimed "thugs" slow down, rephrase, and use proper diction. It's amazing, you CAN understand them - but find out that they are incapable of expressing a complete thought.

Ruffian: "Ise...stays...at...ma...baby...mamas...house...up...da...skreet..."

Me: "I...see?"

That is the ONLY thing that I "know what they are saying". I really cannot understand the rest. I enjoy rap music because it has a great beat! But, I do have to say that it infuriates me that someone can make billions of dollars using a language spoke by four-year-olds, yet many who have years of education barely make enough to survive. I'm not down on the rap industry, obviously it's going strong and will continue to do so.

no i really don't and i wasn't even taught by the "queen's English" i was taught American English. People who listen to that stuff actually understand it. That's why black people made it in the first place, but now all cultures can somewhat understand it....i don't know how and i believe it's horrible music. Well the old school hip hop stuff was pretty cool.
