They work as well as long as the person using them uses them correctly.

You can accurately predict the 36 hours where you will be ovulating in by using the kit. Most kits have 5 to 7 sticks to pee on to detect your LH. You should use the link below to predict around when you should be ovulating to not waste too many of the test sticks.

I find the best way is to calculate your ovulation cycle is with the link below if you have a fairly regular cycle. It is free.

Sperm lives from 4 to 5 days so you can have intercourse around your expected ovulation date and be sure that some will survive.

The fertility monitor has better success rates. I used one, it always detected my fertile time exactly but I didn't get pregnant. I've heard many success stories on it. It's expensive though but I got mine fairly cheap off of Ebay.
