What about civil suits against my whole Republican party leadership who put Folely in charge of the committee to protect sexually exploited children which in turn enabled him to learn how to exploit them even more?

Well...that is a tricky question...I believe they could sue Foley personally, however suing the government entity is a bit harder, considering the government can deny you the ability to sue it as a soveriegn entity...You can however call for the resignation of those that looked the other way way, while this pedophile was allowed to pursue the children in Congressional hands...they are just as culpable for not doing any thing at all...isn't there something called the Good Samaritan Law, where if you deny a person aid--you yourself become a guilty party? hmmmmm

The families cannot sue. The page himself would be allowed to sue but he would have to prove anguish. It seems in this case the page was not trying to stop the e-mails.
You as a person cannot control the actions of another. I know the media would love for you and everyone else to think that this is a wide spread Republican problem but the reality does not support the charges. The Republicans are doing the right thing by investigating the charges.

Yes, they can sue Foley. If they can prove the republicans kept them from being safe, then yes. I know for a fact they can sue the Democrats who withheld all this info until now.
Hastart and the leadership had turned over the information they had to the FBI and the Ethic Board. There was nothing significant to be found. Now if you want to assume that one person saying something to you and little to back it up is grounds for expulsion, then you are a moron as well.
This is the USA. You have to be found guilty before you are sentenced! You have to give them something to be found guilty with. The email that was known for years was nothing more then flirt mail. He was smart enough to keep it out of email print for a while. He just was not smart enough to not Instant Message it. (This is where it should be investigated! Who knew of this and for how long? Is it not the OBLIGATION for the ones who knew to report it? I think that should be jail time!)
