Diein is not the worst to happen. Its a relief, so many people around you are suffering in this life with poverty, poor health, bad relationships and so on. Dying will be a great relief for them ask any old guy who can't walk, eat or pee on his on, he will love to die ...death is the escalpe not the solution.
The worst thing that could happen to somebody is to lose HOPE yes man ...a man can fight everthing if he is hopeful. You wud cross river in hope of life on the other side but once you lost hope you lost everthing and the thats worst case scenario...
Never lose hope in your life no matter what happens to you...and also try to give hope to others that makes you even better person.

When I have finished writing this answer I am going to bed.
When I wake up I am going to go to the travel agent's and book a long put off trip to India as I have realised while reading this that THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN, is spending any longer on this damn comp waisting my life away instead of doing the more active thing's that form my life.

Either you may not get an answer or you may lose Internet for ever. For the time being, that is the worst that can happen.
Otherwise, the worst has happened. We have lost all our values and are now merely clinging to pseudo values. Total disaster is just a few bombs away.

what's the worst that can happen is usually a question used by someone trying to persuade someone else to carry out a particular course of action. it is meant as a reassurance but we all know when it's used that that course of action will lead to something happening far worse than the people undertaking that course of action could ever have imagined. so beware...

the worst that could happen..today... is ...well fridays im meant to go to the bank (whick means i get off work and hour early) so some one could come along and tell me i neednt go as they are, then i'd get pestered all day by constant ringing of phones, then AT FIVE (not 4 cos i didnt go to the bank) i go to my car it starts to tip it down with rain my hair goes curly my car won't start, need to get a taxi, i go to town to get my sunbed, i have to wait for half an hour to get in, , , then when i try to get out the door is stuck and i think i'm gonna die then some one opens it..later i get in to have my favourite pizza for dinner to find my brothers eaten it, meant to be going clubbing tonight but i cant get there as i have no car. but then i realise this was all because it fridays the 13th and seeing as i dont believe in all that stuff it isnt going to really happen!

That it will never, ever get any better than this.
My own life is actually not all that bad, but the majority of the people in the world are less well off. I was sort of speaking on their behalf.

This is often what the secondary character (or sometimes the protagonist) asks right before something awful happens to him or her. The other question they often ask is, " What could possibly go wrong?" If you ask, the rules of the story dictate that you WILL find out!
