High school I would say definitely but check with your local laws some states say if they have a substitute sport for example softball they can not play baseball. But n the MLB I think someday someone will be good enough only time will tell. Just keep in mind most girls really good at the sport opt for softball not sure if that is to be able to play with the same sex or the ridicule.

nope. they sure cant. it has been proven they cant. Ilya Borders pitched professionally for a minor league team the Silver Bullets in the early 90's. She didnt do to well. Her fastball was in the high 70's. Now even the worst pitchers in major league baseball can throw fastballs over 80 mph. With out some velocity on pitches its like hitting batting practice or balls off a tee. She was just ineffective because she couldnt get any hitters out. Her ERA was over 9 runs an innings sometimes and it just was a pain to see her struggle agaisnt men. On average the best women softball players dont hit more than 10-15 hrs a year. and they play on a shorter field than baseball players. College mens players can hit on average of 30-35 hrs. Women just cant play with the men because the game isnt made for them physically like football.

I, would say that there is enough girls with enough talent to play High School baseball. But the Major Leagues is another cookie that ,maybe there might be 1 or 2 but the competition is so tough I doubt it ,or it would have already happened .

There are some girls playing HS baseball.

There are none in the majors. You can never say never though.

Of the four major sports leagues, I would rank the likelihood of a woman making the highest level as:

NHL (goaltender position favors quickness over power)
MLB (you don't have to be a masher if you have a good glove)
NBA (currently too far apart between men's and women's, but who knows)
NFL (steroids testing will keep women out of the NFL)

If we start putting stronger girls on boys teams..what is next! Are we going to say that if a boy is too weak to make the baseball team, he should be able to be on the girls softball team. I always feel like there is a double standard and if women want to play baseball, let them start a women's baseball league.

Well, if there really good I think they have potential. It doesn't say that girls can't play baseball in high school. In the majors leagues...ehh..that would be cool but maybe they should have a seperate league for that. I know there are girls out there who would like to play in the MLB ( ya i did). but I like it the way it is. What would be cool is that they should have a league like before in the old days. Like in that movie "A League Of our Own" (one of my fave movies).

If a girl is good enough to play baseball she should be allowed to
whether it be Varsity, Junior Varsity, Minor Leagues or Majors.
I say the same thing for women who wanted to be Umpires. If they can do it let them. I don't even like the idea of boys and girls being separated in schools. We should learn to grow up together then there would be less trouble.

i think that they could compete with the men but if you were to have women in baseball then you might as well put men in softball. it would be only fair. i would not mind seeing a few women out there playing. it might even make some of the over paid players play better. cause you know that a woman will not be paid as much but when she is doing just as good or better than A-Rod a lot of talk will come up on him and how he is over paid.

I as a women think that they should offer an equal sport which most high schools do (softball) it would not be fair letting the women play with the men since we do not have the muscle strength that men do and would be at a disadvantage. but if they can do it why not.

If you mean on men's teams, what a joke! Do you want to get hit with a 90 mile per hour fast ball?

You people say "if she's good enough," but she is NOT good enough and no one wants to start throwing soft underhand pitches because there are girls on the team. We need to get rid of all of this foul liberalism and a lot of people need to undergo mental evaluations for this way of thinking. Sorry.
