What a load of meaningless garbage.

9/11 was going to happen anyway, regardless of who was running the country.

FEMA has always been incompetent and slow and had never handled anything even close to the size of this disaster.

The budget would not have been balanced by any party, because of the ongoing dot.com recession that had started in 2000, followed so closely by 9/11, which had a significant impact on the economy, too. Without the tax cuts, we'd have been stuck in a moribund economy. The tax cuts helped jump start the economy, and based on the tax return increases, the budget deficit will be eliminated in short order.

However, the deficit issue has been exacerbated by the free-spending of the non-conservatives in Congress [not all GOPers are conservative], and the fat-cat-ism that was so fatal to the Dems when they lost power in 1994. Their failure to reform Social security, their excessive pork barrel spending, their support of increased medical entitlements and educational spending have all conspired to push an already bloated and unconstitutional budget even further in the red.

These are not actions of true conservatives. That's why true conservatives have been upset with the Democrat-like drunken sailor spending of the GOP.

Truth is, if you had TRUE conservatives running the government, there would have been a lot less spending, and a more rational budget.

I'm with you on the balance budget, drives me nuts then again if we recalled all the debt owed to us from all the other countries in the world we'd have a huge surplus. 9/11 was failure of all...democrats did not support intelligence and the build up to 9/11 did not occur over a 8 month period of the Bush admin. Hurricane problems shouldn't have occurred not only did the local government, state government fail but the people failed themselves. Perhaps Florida set a standard where the Federal government expected other states to be able to follow and they were caught surprised by the utter ineptness of the state and local governments in Louisiana, odd how the Mississippi and Alabama, where the hurricane hit have rebuilt better and quicker than in the Louisiana, I wonder why?

And why do conservatives think they should be government? Same reason liberals do...they want power and they THINK they know what's better. Quite frankly I don't believe any of them have clue what the true majority of Americans really want since they are so dang busy caring more about their own power and not the rest of us.

I haven't read the other answers but I would be willing to bet at least one and probably more will blame Bill Clinton, for everything that they have done wrong. The conservatives do not take the blame well, they want the responsibility of it but not the responsibility for it and will spin, or misdirect everything in an attempt to make somebody else look bad. I do think however there is a place for conservatives in the government it is called the minority. The liberal left needs checks and balance also but the last 6 years of one party rule has not been good for this country at all. The Democrats had the power for the better part of 40 years and never had the country this messed up.

My guess is because they are as egotistical and ignorant as liberals.

Egotistical because they think their ideas of what government should be doing supercede the Constitution, in that there simply is no authority for taking money from taxpayers in Ohio to provide hurricane relief to Louisiana.

Ignorant because they forget that 9/11 wasn't the first terrorist attack against America, not even the first on U.S. soil, ignorant of the significance of the seminal event of the first attack on U.S. soil which was the seizure of our embassy in Tehran (Carter was President, remember that?), and right now proving ignorance by not knowing that the embassy WAS, in fact, U.S. soil.

Ignorant because they point at each other for failure to balance the budget when they are both to blame, and ignorant because they point at the President when the budget is the responsibility of the House of Representatives.

You're right, conservatives don't belong in government any more than liberals do, but liberals don't belong there, either.

In the 8 months preceding 9-11 no precedence had been set for Bush. Since 9-11 Bush has taken the fight to Al Qaeda. In the preceding 8 years Clinton did nothing to actively pursue Al Qaeda and Clinton did absolutely nothing after the Cole attack...

Bush administration has dedicated $110 billion dollars to Katrina relief. Of that, $33 billion dollars have been released by congress. Of that, only $10 billion dollars have been spent. Dolt's like yourself are stuck on stupid when it comes to facing the facts...

no elect to tax the crap out of absolutely everyone. usher in a flat, straightforward tax that calls for ALL electorate to pay a similar volume and then get rid of each and every of the socialist classes. that are you able to incredibly have? Your perplexing earned tax money being funneled to a elect few persons? Or your perplexing earned tax money going to assist each and every man or woman both? As reported, a balanced funds change basically signifies that the president has to placed up a funds beforehand and congress has to vote to approve it and then arise with the funding. it would want to be smart if our authorities might want to act better like a for income corporation, having to concepts the till and pay interest to the numbers. would not or not that's outstanding if the authorities were to really open an activity bearing low-cost charges account and keep for a moist day? we would have a authentic surplus rather of that smoke and mirrors crap that Clinton hoodwinked the form of enormous volume of with through stealing our money from the Social protection have self belief fund.

You lib's just don't have a clue... Nope not an ity bitty iota (?) of wisdom..nope not one bit... It's not the national goverments problems so much as the local goverments problem.. Yes they both have to take part, but at the same time, big goverment does not need to alway step in.. How big do you want the goverment to get?
That is the real issue here. The goverment is to be made up of the poeple, not a bunch of rich retards.
And you have to remember, that each party has a had to clean up after the last one that was in office. And guess who was last in the oval office.. Hmmmm I wonder... But that doesn't matter to you does it? All you see is war monger, when clinton did nothing , we had the U.S.S Cole bombing, and we had that slaughter of marines in africa... What the heck!! He did nothing.. Nothing...
So I stooped down to your level and dared to answer, so sue me.... What does a stuped Mexican know???

The Conservative party isn't in government. Right now every seat is occupied by either a Republican or a Democrat with 2 Independent representatives.

Many of the problems that we are facing today are the results of failed policies of the past.
Like Carter handing Iran to the Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979. Clinton's appeasement of North Korea in the Mid 1990's. God know what disasters another democratic administration would bring.

Conservatives to preserve American Values, American borders, freedoms and social order.

What will Liberals do for or to America. Their past track record has not been impressive. Weaker military, higher taxes, stripping away of freedom in the name of freedom, opening the borders to all sorts of illegal activity. not enforcing existing laws but wanting to pass new redundant laws.
