I know i have to be 21 to drink but thats not the problem.

The thing is im travelling across america from california to new york going through ohio etc right across the middle im with other people over the age of 21 but i have no idea which states we will be stopping at as i have no control over this.

Most places you still have to be 21 to enter. There are some exceptions for "family rooms"

Since drinking age is a state issue it really depends on that state. In Florida the drinking age is 21. You are allowed into bars at 18 but that law is mainly to allow younger people to have jobs. Also, Florida allows the bar operators to determine if they will allow 18 year old persons in their bars. In Florida you cannot server alcohol unless you are at least 18.

I have noticed a lot of clubs are making the rule if there is drinking you have to be 21 regardless if your drinking; which is understandable. If there is a club that allows you to enter with alcohol present; you most likely have to be 18.

You usually have to be 18. There are some places that will only let you in if you are 21 and over because they don't make money off of people who aren't drinking.

States Vary considerably, In the State of Washington if the establishment has a resturaunt license and serves food at tables small children can be in the establishment till 10 pm, even sit at the bar. You need to check local laws.
