I'll answer as a poker player.
Some people are great at picking up "Tells" which are non-verbal gestures that give away information about another person.
One of the easiest way to spot how someone is feeling is their eyes.
Think of it this way....no way to tell what they're thinking or feeling.
No way to show fear.
