Michael Jackson is AFRICAN AMERICAN. He has developed a skin disease (it started in his 20s) called Vitiligo. It turns patches of your skin lighter. It is a pigment loss. He cannot help it!! He says at first he was black with white splotches and he used black makeup to cover it, but after the Vitiligo progressed he became increasingly WHITE with Black splotches. Its a very sad thing, and peopel are bigoted idiots to say that Michael wanted to "change his race". It is not even possible to change ones race. I get so tired of answering this question, Michael Jackson is black and will ALWAYS be black, for all you idiots that are confused. Michael has a skin disease that turns your skin pale looking, and as of right now there isn't a cure for it. Why, I'm not sure but probably because he's in the lime light alot but he bleached his skin i guess to blend it in more and he really took it over board. Ok, this is for all you ignorant people who only listen to the media. Michael Jackson is a Black African American, and he always will be. The reason he appears white is NOT because he bleached his skin. He has a skin condition called Vitiligo, a disease which destroys the pigmentation in the skin. He is still black no matter what.

He is black and he suffers from the same condition as I have vitaligo, it stops the pigment in the skin forming. It can start on the hands and spread across the body. I think this is the real reason he wore that one white glove. He may well of bleeched the rest of himself so that he was not blotchy, I can quite understand that.

There is very little in western medicine that can be done to stop ir even slow down vitaligo.

Well back in his ABC 123 days he was close to being an African, with an afro and his flat nose, by his Thriller days he was still black, but there were signs of him trying to be white, by the time he sings You are not Alone, he was fully white by then....now I think the entire black race will not lay claim to him, he is on the other side he is white.....because if he was not white he would have been guilty of sleeping with children...trust me on that..D

It depends on what pictures you look at, in dsome he looks black, in some looks mixed, in some he looks like a white woman, and in some he looks like an alien. I know for sure he was born black though i try not to claim it because that's an embarassment to my race

michael josef jackson is african american.he was born black and due to a skin disorder called vitiligo he looks white now.let me explain vitiligo cause depigmentation of the skin.it stops the action of a necessary enzyme called tyrosinase which is necessary for the color of skin.so when u get the disease u see u have white blotches on most part of yourskin specially parts which r exposed like hands.those who lose like 80 percent of their skin color try to make all their body white.the best and ofcourse safe way is to use make ups.these make ups r so expensive.so michael uses them and looks white.people with this disorder become shy and feel bad to be in society so michael is blessed to have the money to look better.it costs like 100 dollars for him to use the make ups everyday.
