you may have slept on it wrong. make sure your pillow is supporting your head and spine. Sleeping with your head propped up a little will cause pain. For now move your head as much a you can by stretching your neck, moving your head from side to side. Loosen up the muscles. Sometimes that helps

Wet down a towel, throw it in the microwave for a minute or so. Be careful it will be hot!! Let it cool down a touch. Place on neck as warm as you can tolerate it. This is called moist heat. It relieves tight sore muscles. While your applying moist heat to your neck do a little extra studying. Your education is very important. Be a strong woman and learn to provide for yourself. You never want to have to depend on someone else. You'll be much happier in life.

ICy hot is good but that works best if its over night for me. I always use an ice pack. My wives chiropractor told her about it. It helps sometimes. I do prefer a good neck message.

Try stretching it in the opposite direction of the pain it will hurt but it should feel better. I do that all the time and it seems to help.

My dad had this same problem. You may wanna go to local wal-mart or walgreens and get a heat wrap. Bed Buddy its a wrap but its alot softer and it gets warmer than a heat wrap . They aren't terribly expensive, but worth every penny.

Hope you feel better =]
