Dylan in the summer, Cohen in the autumn.
Dylan at a wedding, Cohen at a funeral.
Dylan while making love, Cohen while washing up.

Although Cohens Suzanne rates as one of my all time favourite songs - Dylan has written works that have been recorded by a huge number of artists over the years - listening to the CD released to coincide with his 65 birthday several generations
picked songs they knew well and discussed who's versions they liked the most - me well gotta say Dylans rendition of Forever Young will be played at my funeral its just so beautiful. so in anwer to your question GOTTA be Dylan. Cohen is a poet -

There is only one answer BOB (God) DYLAN!!!!!!!
He is the one true shining light in modern music who is still as good today as he ever was. His songs have stood the test of time and he creativity still continues to this day. He is a living legend who's influence is immense, there is hardly a popular musician who doesn't know at least one of his songs or been seriously influenced by him.
The sheer number of his songs covered by other artists should be testement to his awsome songwriting ability. Cohen just doesn't come close.

Just don't play Cohen in a high building. Its not safe with the opportunity of jumping out the window being readily available!

Dylan, Dylan, and Dylan. I'm biased cause my uncle taught Dylan's brother in school in Hibbing, Minn. Dylan turned up in sandals one Christmas for his brother's nativity play!!! Cold or what!!! His real name is David Zimmerman.

`the songs of leonard cohen` i love to struggle along to it with the acoustic guitar music, and my voice is as crap(brilliant?) as his. dylan seems to have been more influential, however cohen has probably influenced more people to hang themselves in abject misery...........
