We all know what happens to smoker who refuse to stop smoking... Encourage him to stop soon while he is still young, its eaiser for his lungs to heal at a young age... if he doesn't well like i daid we all know what happens to smokers.... there are hundreds of web site, ads, campigns etc. that are commited to helping smokers stop smoking... maybe some of those will help him to stop. but ultimately it is out of your hands, I'd hate for you to have to see him die slowly but that will be the case if he continues to smoke. Sorry Just encourage him and let him know how his "habit" (aka addiction) affects you and those who love him. Perhaps that will help... I don't know, Im being hypocritical cause I too smoke and always trying to stop, Bottom line its not worth it for anyone, except the Tobacco company who really doesn't care about its consumers only profit margins. Encourge him to stop and see what happens who know maybe I'm just over exagerrating the situation. Hope that helps

~Cheers

Obviously this person isn't a friend by the sounds of it. Just because he smokes doesn't exactly mean he'll die earlier than you or anyone else you know. Yes, while smoking is bad for the person he can make it to 90+ depending on how the rest of his body is.If he is in good condition, besides smoking, he'll be okay. Never know, he might outlive you.

Ask him if he's going to leave you something - a prized possession, whatever he really likes - in his will. Then another day ask him about some other thing that he likes - if you can have it after he dies. Ask him where he wants to be buried. These little reality questions can wake a person up.

He won't quit until he wants to. You can't make him stop, you can educate him on what it does to his body, but because it is an addiction he has to want to stop before he ever will. And if you keep on him you will likely lose a friend.

you need to tell your friend to stop that fast....he's already killing himself for the past 7 years of his life and since he started at a young age he had small lungs that will get covered twice as fast an adults...

...bottom line its bad, and if he's really your friend you need to do whatever you can do to make him stop.

Uncle Fester faces this everyday...but he smokes "poles" so typically when he pulls it out and there's blood on it, well, it just means he used to much teeth.

if you really want to help him take him first to a physician so tuberculosis is ruled out and later to psychologist fast so he'll be rehabilitated before his lungs start decaying that probably have already. wish you good luck in the venture.

He should stop smoking - otherwise he could develop a variety of cancers or emphysema. All are devastating.
