Well..Vampire bats are considered vampires and they feed on blood.But,human vampires like Edward Cullen(Robert Thomas Pattinson)starring in the hit show Twilight and the rest of the series,are just made up by the authors/directors.Nobody is sure but i am confident unless it is a vampire bat there are no such things as vampires.All those ghost or vampire storys make it seem real to scare you.I hope i could answer your question with great effort.

I do not think that one could be born a vampire as it is only legend, but the many myths may result in people adopting the life style of legendary vampires, thus becoming a sort of vampire by choice.

I believe they are real myself but not just because of the amount of books but also the amount of sightings and how this type of thing vampires, fairies, elves can be found in some form in every culture's history long before we all started to assiociate with each other.

I believe they use to excised, but not in the comical way the are viewed on TV. I know people now a days also live by the vampire ways to.

Relentless, single minded bloodsuckers might be a metaphor for realistic fears. Vampires rape us of our life fluids. What in real life scares us the same way? Isn't it easier to project that fear onto mythical beings?

there is a super rare disease that gives you some characteristics of a vampire; ex. pale skin, sensitivity to light, elongated canines. i forget its name but only a few people in the world have it. the stories could have possibly originated from this condition

I don't buy into this stuff, but if you google David Icke and watch some of his videos he has some pretty funny stories of reptiles and vampires.
