And after the fluid diet...stay away from processed or fast foods...get back to fruits, vegetables, grains...these have the necessary coarse fiber that keeps it clean and removes polyps.

There is an herbal colon cleanse kit by Zand that I recommend. Follow instructions. Also Arise and shine has good products. i have used them both. Colon cleansing needs lots of water daily too. Run water through you like the river you are. Look for the simpel ones. There are people out there trying to make a buck and will make it complicated. You should have something with psyllium, and benenite clay to go in and add bulk that clings to the fecal matter. Then many have the purgative, an herbal blend to help the body to push it out. Thats the basics. Arise and shine has many other porducts. one to go in before the cleansing begins and simply to break stuff down inside the intestines. Zand is also very easy and simple. If you are considering doing a serious cleanse, I would go to a profesional, It is not that easy once the body get to cleansing and you may need help with different feelings, etc. If you are going for more than 8 days, you will also want to do a simple liver flush. I find that the "Nutritional Healing" book to be a great resourse. Read several versions of cleansing so you see the pattern. But the most important part of cleansing is to drink so much water and minimal food. this lets the body know that you mean to cleanse.

You might prefer a more gradual process: changing to a clean diet over a period of several weeks. Start with a diet of 50 percent raw food along with a teaspoonful of linseed (available from health food stores) or two level teaspoonfuls of Metamucil or Citrucel, bulking agents available at pharmacies or grocery stores. You can chew the linseed to release the nutrients. Metamucil or Citrucel is easier to swallow if you mix it with yogurt. Water is an essential element in the cleansing process; aim for two quarts per day while you are cleansing the colon, unless this conflicts with advice from your doctor. Start off the day with at least a half pint of water, preferably hot, before breakfast. Many people are afraid to consume that much water because they retain fluid, but some practitioners believe that the body retains fluid when it does not get enough; it tries to hang on to its ration

Two table spoons of Epson salts in a glass of water, drink it at night time for a throughly clean colon the next morning. Sip some warm drink, and and stand by the bathroom door, - and be ready to unload.

1. Your colon does not need "cleaning", except in the case of preparing for an exam.
2. All the suggestions given involve a laxative of one sort or another. Are you constipated??

I'm guess you could do the same thing that you have to do to get ready for a colonoscopy; since you have to clear out your colon to do that.
Try taking laxitives(follow directions on the box) and staying on a fluid diet for a day.

Citroma or Fleet's Phospho soda taken as directed will get you clean enough for a colonoscopy procedure. Anything else is probably overkill.
