Can anyone give me some help on how in the world I am supposed to memorize 206 bones! Everyone I ask always tell me that they have no clue how they did it, the just did. I've heard of making numonics and other things, but that just isn't helping. Any other study tips anyone could suggest?

There are some acronyms for the bones of the hand and foot that you can memorize. I dont remember them off hand but you can check the internet. Also for the arm bones, the radius is the one attached to your thumb because when you turn your arm, it moves along the outside of the circle like a radius =)

also the fibula is the smaller of the 2 lower leg bones....think...a small fib

the patella (kneecap) can be remembered by thinking "pat your knee"

Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Anatomy, Microbiology and Physiology are all very tough courses and you will need to do a lot of studying...unless you have a photographic memory. What I did was to read my notes several times every night. By the time tests came around, I discovered that I have virtually memorized all but the most recent of the notes. It was what worked for me.

Most bones don't need any effort to memorize. The real difficlut ones are the bones of the wrist and ankle, as well as the skull. For the wrist a good mnemonic is:

She Likes To Play, (scaphoid, lunate, triquetral, pisiform)
Try To Catch Her! (trapezium, trapezoid, capitate, hamate)

Proximal bones first, starting with the most lateral bone.

Good luck
