As a child I can remember certain words that I struggled to say properly - such as hospital (pronounced hosTiPal). I guess this is the same for lots of people - but is there any you didnt grow out of? I still cant pronounce criminal without really slowing down and saying each syllable individually (if i talk to quick it comes out as criNiMal).
Is it just me or does anyone else have this problem?

I guess some us have problem pronouncing some worda. I have trouble with the word CONSISTS like I can pronounce but I do slow down and say it carefully or it comes out as CONSISS. May be there are other words too like this-different for each person. You are not alone in having pronounciation problems, Don't worry.

Me too. I had the problem for many words like attraction, desperation which i say depsiration, association which I say as asashiation. here is the solution to this problem. I came out of it by writing it 10 times daily and spelling and pronouncing it slowly with concentration, daily during leisure, before going to bed, early morning continuously for 5-10 times.

yes i do, the word pistachio(that little green nut that is used for puddings and such) well it kicks my butt most times when I try to say it. And I really have to stop and thing about it or it comes out something like "Spitachio"

Glad to know i'm not alone in this one!

pisghetti (spaghetti)
pacific (specific)
those are two that i hear people say a lot.
i am more likely to mispronounce a word by how it looks.
this was a habit i picked up in the fourth grade when i desparately
(des par ate lee) wanted to win the spelling bee.
words like pro bab lee and you nee cue (probably and unique) are words i still stop briefly before letting out of my mouth!

I had a hard time saying Nicaragua and I still hesitate before I say it. Other than that, none of the problem words really stuck with me.
