It is really unbearable to see the rubbish/food/leftovers that has been left on london buses. I only travel by bus but I bet the tube is less unsightly!? I've seen passengers bring food/drinks onboard, continue to eat/drink then casually leave it on the seat or on the floor! I have never left any rubbish on a bus, if I eat I try not to make a mess and take my rubbish with me....it's only good manners and courteous to fellow passengers!
Bring on the food/eating ban on buses!

I totally agree with you , all public transport are the same where ever you go ! - ( trains too )
People are so ignorant - Its disgusting !! people should stop complaining about the condition of public transport and do something about it ! There should be a BAN about ' no eating and drinking ' on buses and could even put small rubbish bins about ! - And don't they have cameras on the buses ? they should see the mess and start to do something about it .... like NOW !!
its only for our health and safety ! we want the best don't we ?? !!! *** !!!

The tube is just as bad. There are signs requesting people not to leave rubbish, but no one pays attention.
I feel the should do what is done in Singapore, where people who eat smelly food or leave rubbish are fined heavily!
That's the only way.
And as Mind the Gap mentioned, there are no bins, because of the bin bombs from the IRA days, and the fear that it will be repeated in this day and age.

the worry with the London Buses is that now you're able to desire to pay for the unfastened transporting of toddlers over the age of 5. i don't think of that they could desire to have given toddlers unfastened shuttle albeit with an oyster image card, toddlers are the worst for pushing in front of different passengers who my have been waiting 10 minutes in the past the bus turns up yet nevertheless think of that they could desire to be first on the bus. And by utilising the time they have all pushed on there isn't any room for fare paying passengers (in case you have an oyster card you're nevertheless paying). As to the bus drivers a number of them do not supply a s*** approximately passenger risk-free practices, they shy away rapid and stop all of sudden, subsequently throwing passengers approximately in the past they have had a raffle to take a seat down. Then there is the drivers who stop at a bus stop. the bus is a minimum of two to 3 feet far off from the kerb, or the doorways the place you get of contain in step with a railings/rubbish containers or another impediment. besides the reality that some cases that's by using careless automobile drivers who park on top of bus stops. I even have observed that some bus drivers bypass interior the direction of the occasional pink easy, besides the reality that it ought to have in simple terms replaced. yet whats up nevertheless some automobile drivers do the comparable. Why are drivers ignoring site visitors lighting fixtures furnishings? i've got questioned of the ingredient slightly. the ingredient Is, Is Public transport for the first public or for funds grabbing Co's and Gov bodies?

The trains are just about as bad. One of the problems is that there are no rubbish bins anywhere, I assume it's left over from the bin bombs by the IRA. Since the transport people are not willing to put bins or trains, buses or in stations I can't see the problem will improve.

It is not just your buses that are dirty . London is messy in most places. This is not in fact a criticism of the people who live here . I think you just do not employ enough people to clean up afterwards, Your local government needs to spend more money and be more efficient. But I have heard local government here is full of corruption. If the rulers are not clean then dirt will build up everywhere.

The problem is not so much with the eating but with leaving the leftovers on the bus. People are under the impression that they can do whatever the hell they like on public transport.

Because London is filthy, the UK is filthy in places, hardly surprising we are the lardiest in Europe, we simply cant be bothered to do the tiniest things. Totally agree with the buses buts its not just the buses that are filthy. Politics, football, high streets, council sink estates, our rivers, our politicians, our celebrity culture obsession, they are all filthy.
