You say you have a notebook pc..or a laptop..if thats the case maybe you should plug an external mouse into the side or the back of your laptop then you can go to 'start' then ' control panel' on the and then go into mouse settings and slow the 'pointing device' down.. if you plug another mouse in you can use that for as long as you want..hope this has been of help

i have the same problem, i use a separate mouse, and not the little pad thing....there are 2 reasons....one is that when you press on areas around the little pad thing, it attracts the cursor in that direction. Of course, its natural to press when typing o thats a pain....and another, told me by a computer techy engineer bloke, which i must say seemed a bit weird, is that some ppl are more electrically charged than others and it causes a problem....can you wear watches? i can't cos they always stop...anyway, you can turn the little pad thing off in control panel, and just use an external mouse...

Try playing with the mouse settings - get to your Control Panel and double-click on "Mouse." You can adjust the speed and sensitivity there.

If that doesn't work, then it's probably a hardware problem with the mouse pad on your laptop. Take it to a computer store for repairs, or buy an external mouse and plug it in.

Yeah I get that too - especially if my fingers are wet or sweaty/oily.

Wash your hands, take a dry tissue to the trackpad and wipe it to get any stray grease off and it should work a bit better.

If you're still getting problems, it may be that your trackpad is wearing out, so it might be worth buying a normal mouse to plug in and use.

I think ur mouse needs to cleansed or its spring might have gone loose. Check it out by removing the ball out. Another possibility is look into the control panel, go for mouse and see the set up. May be its in higher senitivity.

It may be the sensitivity is set up too high. Find the mouse control panel and see if you can turn down the mouse speed, that might help.

I have the same problem with mine if my hands are wet.

This is more common a problem with Optical mouses. Do you have one of those connected too?

Does it have a ball in the mouse?. If so please take the ball out and clean the rollers inside the mouse. The ball comes out by turning the top piece of the holder where you see the mouse.

am not too technical either, but i do know that sometimes dirt builds up in the area were the little ball is and you can actually remove the little bit with a hole in it and give it a clean. that might work.

Sounds like it's covered in filth. Clean it!
