Awesome question! Yes, you are right, it is a bestiality to cut up a baby like that, without giving him a choice.
People do it out of ignorance. I did it to my first son, and if I had known better, I would not have.
When my second son was born, I refused to have him circumcised. Doctors were actually discouraging circumcision by then.
Boys aren't born with anything you need to cut anyway. Boy was his father mad! Seems like to American men, having no little strip of skin down there enhances manhood...

Some people do it for religious purposes, other (like me) do it because it is necessary for health reasons. My youngest son had Fthimosis which is a painful inflammation of the foreskin, so he had to have a circumcision. Obviously, I could not ask him he was only 3!!!!
Your questions suggests that we should not give babies or young children any medical procedure without their consent. What about inoculations and surgery required etc??

Unfortuantely the parent is the legal guardian and so can give or refuse consent for the child until adult hood.
A Jehovass witness can refuse their child a blood transfusion when it is bleeding to death !
In extreme cases the law/ social services can intervene and act as guardians and therefore make decisions for the child.

I agree with you. Fortunately we don't have that in the UK. The reason most people give for this barbaric act is that it's cleaner. I am not chopped and have never had any problems. All it takes is proper personal hygiene. We wouldn't have a foreskin if we didn't need it.

Well some are circumcised for religious reasons.i personally wouldn't.My son had to be circumcised at 5 years which i had to give consent but it was for medical reasons and he is much happier for it and pleased he had it done.it was heart breaking after though as was very painful.i would say to people please don't unless it is medical and really can't be avoided.

I know what you mean. I am married to a Muslim and had to have my son done when he was very young. I didn't think it was worth the fight to resist living in their culture.
Since then, ( he is a man now) have heard of lots of men(non muslims) in the heat and humidity here who have had problems. These have been blamed on them not being circumcised.
It has also been stated that cervical cancer rates are lower in countries where the men are normally circumcised.
If that is true, then we should all sign up our male babies for the snip when they are a few weeks old!

It is usually part of the culture or thing to do. I do agree with you though. There are many studies for and against circumcision.

The parents are the voice of the child.
Is this right, in some cases of course, in the case, I'm not sure.

if a baby is not circumcised while they are young when they grow up they have to worry about the proper way to clean it and the pain of the extra skin also now a day most young mom do even know how to clean them selves correct let alone a new born baby born.
