Well, to me, courting is a phone call for no reason just to say 'have a nice day' or 'I wanted to hear your voice'. Flowers every once in a while; a romantic card, being a complete gentleman, nice words...this would all depend on the woman. Some women enjoy having men to open doors for them, swoop them off their feet with beautiful words and gestures; others don't. But if the girl is really interested, she'll probably go with the flow. If she's not, she'll find fault in everything you do.

You're taking this FAR too seriously.... Boy cute is really defined by teen girls and it changes after they turn around 17 so it's really irrelevant. I grew up when the Beatles set the cute standard (especially Paul, where one girl chased me around the playground trying to show me pictures of him). At first, I thought John Lennon was ugly, but when I got older, I thought he was amazingly cool looking, which overrides cute any day. Don't sweat it- a cute boy is just a guy who has nice looks and almost looks like a girl. When they get older, "cute" changes and the boy cute is no longer cute when they turn into a man. After all, Paul McCartney didn't exactly marry the cutest girls now did he?

Courting back in the day was when a guy would call on a girl.. meaning he wanted to take her out. Courting is what happens before dating. Your trying to make sure that this will lead into marriage.

It is an old day saying for dating. Where the person who was interested in you would come over meet the family spend quality time with you and the family and then at some point the family would allow you to spend time with the interested party and eventually you got to geet married etc. I don't think there is anything quite like that today.

Traditionally the male courts the female with gifts and treats: A young lad and girl stepping out together :
Him with a view to making it a permanent arrangement in the near future.

My former boyfriend told me that he wanted to "court" me. I asked him if he even knew what that word meant, and he swore he did. Then, he proceeded to lie to me and cheat on me and abuse me physically and verbally. So, I guess courting means treating people like crap! If someone tells you they want to court you...RUN FORREST, RUN!
