A particle is projected with velocity=v making an angle= ө
With horizontal.Now task is to calculate the average speed between the time interval {t=t1 to t=t2}

By definition Average Speed= Distance travelled/Time taken.
Here the time taken is t2-t1
Sh=vcosө*(t2-t1)
Sv=vsinө(t2-t1)+0.5*g*sq(t2-t1)
S=sqrt(Sh^2+Sv^2)
So average speed=S/(t2-t1)
where Sh is distance covered in the horizontal direction in the time interval t2-t1
and Sv is distance covered in the vertical direction in the time interval t2-t1
and S is their resultant.
Here sq represents the operation os fsquaring and sqrt represents taking square root.
