Why do women have an obsession with bags/purses and shoes? Every colour, every style to match ever outfit. I heard once that a little black dress goes with everything. Isn't that the same thing for shoes and bags as well? Why do you need every shade, every height, etc etc? It's an obsession I tell ya!! :P

Half the fun of life are the differences between male and female. Men have their obsessions and women have theirs. Why does my boyfriend need to purchase every little tool ever created, even though most of the time all he needs is a screwdriver or a standard wrench? Just be happy for the differences - makes for good conversation if nothing else.

Why is when I go into a dude's "work space" he has to have every Craftsman tool ever made???For me it's because the shoes and the accessories make the outfit. Yeah black goes with almost anything but you can really make a statement with your accessories. They're the focal point of the whole ensemble. I like nothing better than going somewhere in jeans and a black shirt and knowing that I have the most amazing pink snakeskin shoes on my feet. A hot pair of shoes or an amazing bag pulls it all together.

Sorry to burst your bubble but not all women have an obsession with shoes, purses etc..... Personally I only have a limited amount of shoes ( about 4 pairs). As for purses well.......I always use a neutral one that goes with everything. But lots of women do love their accessories. It also depend on their job/career. I'm lucky I can wear comfy casual clothes every day. And my Harley shoes go with all my outfits!!!!!

Purses, i don't carry one. Just a cig case with everything in it and my cell-case. Shoes?, Well, that's a different story!!! Let's see, where to begin for a guy's point of understanding......You have different pants lengths, so different heel heights to go with that...longer pants that drag, need higher heels to keep em off the ground. Women have a higher attention to details, so we like our stuff to pretty much match. I've seen guys dress in things and combine colors that make us women cringe, and out right laugh. Plus we like variety. We get no kick outta wearing the same thing day after day. Then there's the occasion to consider...dressy, casual, formal, work. Not one single style of shoe is considered acceptable for every occasion!!

Men are fashion challenged, one suit, one sports jacket, 2 pairs of pants, 2 jeans, 3 shirts,2 knit tops, one sweater, one topcoat, two pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of sneakers. A mans wardrobe for the year, all seasons, no new purchases for five years. Its not an obsession, its not even enjoyable. It just keeps them from getting arrested on indecent exposure charges.
Women dress for seasons, times, occasions, locales. events and who-saw-her-last-in-what-outfit. Its just a totally different mindset.

The same reason that men have obsessions with sports stats, fantasy football, poker rules etc. It is something you like that is "fluff". You can collect information on this stuff and keep your mind busy.

We may tend to be obsessed with little things like shoes and accessories, while men, on the other hand tend to be obsessed with cars, boats, motorcycles, much costlier than our shoes, as well as their all-time GREAT obsession.....(all of which they NAME, by the way)..LOL

because... we're like that? hehe actually, i don't know... i'm not much of a girl that way but i guess it gets to be something like an "acquired taste" over time.. also, sometimes, we do it to look good for our significant others... for some, work or how society expects us to look (e.g. school, work, etc.)

then again, i agree with one of the earlier posts... it's just the same with guys getting "obsessed", so to speak with sports... or, in some cases, computer games... cards... etc. (",)

Yeah, what's up with that? Maybe its just 'cuz buying shoes is an excuse to shop. 'Course, I only have two pairs of shoots (hiking boots, boy's sandals--lol), but I am kind of addicted to the Dollar Store...love to shop there....

Some women have this obsession, probably those who read women's magazines. Personally I'm happier breaking codes than following them.
