https are secured sites. Which means they are safe places on the internet where you usually type in bank information, credit information or peronsaly informatin. And http are just normal everyday unsecrued sites.

the last word stands for secure (safety). generally banking and internal company sites has this additional benefit. you may generally try the https route to be safe.

https means it is a secure web site (at least it has an encryption coding that is used), whereas sites with just http are regular (unsecured) pages.
