Well I have 4 forearm tattoo's...I don't have a sleeve or anything but my tattoo's are pretty noticible, And it won't ruin your job oppurtunities, especially since any respectable job requires you to probably wear a long sleeve shirt and a tie anyways, I mean if you plan on working at Mc Donalds or something then I don't know what thier policies are. But as for me...I have tatts and I work at a hospital.

You have to be careful of the tattoo `s content . Meaning if it contains words causing offence , or predudice . For instance some jobs you would need to have your forearms uncovered and the tattoo would obviously then be visible at all times in work. My daughter has several tatoos but the only one that she got in trouble for was a Blue Star ( Newcastle Supporters Emblem ) when she was working in the Stadium of Light ( Rivals Ground ! ) At the time she was really desperate for a job ( sorry Sunderland Fans ! )

Not giving you a job on the grounds of tattoo would be out of order, if your worried about that why don't you get a smaller tattoo in a more discreet place which can be hidden under trousers or a short sleeved top.

I had a tatoo done in 1968 on my right forearm. Since then I've been head of a R & D department, own my own company and am head of sales for yet anothewr company. So 'no' a tattoo on your forearm wont ruin your chances of employment.

There's a simple answer to that.
Either don't get a tattoo on your forearm, or wear long sleeves to your interviews.
There's not a lot an employer can do if you keep it covered at work.

i am in the sam eboat as you mate
but i think alot of it depends on the type of career and the type of tattoo you want.
e.g builders etc could get away with anythin they want where as an office bloke wouldnt
i think the best type of forearm tattoos about are definately family names or personal messages, mainly because people wont judge you for having your wife/daughter/ whatevers name on your forearm as long as the actual tattoo is tasteful.
like if you had someones name in olde english writing it looks really smart and not someones name wriiten across a tattoo opf a naked bird on a motorbike!!!

hope its helped mate

A tattoo would be cool, but it doesnt necessarily have to be on your forearm right? I could be at the base of your neck, shoulder....Basically any other part you can cover with a shirt if you want to

You may want to do some research on blacklight ink. Depending on your skin color, you could get a tattoo that will not show up in regular light, but will glow when exposed to a blacklight.

I've already planned a full back ink-job for myself...half black ink and half white blacklight ink.

Why bother with a forearm tattoo when you can have a forehead tattoo.

I did and it never did me any hard, my mum thinks it's great and a fitting sign of my love for her.

A lot of employers don't allow visible tats, so you may end up in long sleeves permanently..that's a shame as some guys look fantastic!
