I believe that every local authority (other than town councils, parish councils and county councils) will have one Chief Environmental Health Officer post (though the positions will probably not all be filled at any one time). This means every city council, every district council, every London borough, every municipal borough and every unitary authority [*] has a CEHO post. Just add them all up - lol.

Alternatively contact the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. They may know.

[* Remember that the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands are not part of the United Kingdom]

Well, in theory, the title 'Chief' suggests there is, and should only be....one.

Knowing the bureaucratic stupidity of the UK.........I live there.........there are probably several 'Chiefs'. And not enough Indians.....
