Buy a home-cryogenics kit and after Hammie reaches his first birthday begin the process. Then go buy Hammie2 and repeat. Eventually when you are about 80 you can start to defrost them all and all 68 Hammies will be alive and will have technically lived a very very long time.

Keep the cage very clean, fresh water and food every day, plenty of vegetables, taking care not to give lettuce. I also put a piece of hardwood in so they can chew on that. this prevents their teeth getting too long.

Proper nutrition, proper cage care, but there is nothing other that you can do to prolong their life, sorry, I feel the same was about my piggies.
