they are not legends , it was a team like bangladesh and zimbabwe (low ranked ) in the begining , but by working hard they were able to win world cup in 1996,
nw they are vry improved as a team , but still nt a big threat.

and for the kind information for others , they ranked at 5th place in test cricket and at 6th place in oneday cricket.

The most famous player in srilanka is leg spinner MURALITHARAN. he is the master of spin, and currently rated as no1 bowler in world cricket

sri lanka, a tiny island contry right next to peninsular india is pretty good when it comes to cricket....but for quite sometime it seemed that they had lost their charm until they beat west indies by 9 whole wickets in this champions trophy. sri lanka's ICC ranking currently is 7 or 8 but it is prone to go up after their awesome performance against west indies. some of the greats of cricket from sri lanka are sanath jayasuria, muttiah muralitharan and kumara sangakara

Sri Lankans are a small cricketing nation who won the Cricket World Cup in 1992. But now, they are currently ranked 6th in the LG ICC ODI Championship Rankings table with 108 points and are placed 5th in the LG ICC TEST Championship Rankings table with 103 points.
Their current run of form in the shorter version of the game is becoming very successful.......................

Sure, Sri Lankans, citizens of a tiny country, are great in cricket. You can label them as Legend in cricket. (I am not Sri Lankan)

well to all those none believers, i can say only one thing. we'll see what happens in the world cup those who speak big never achieve. sri lankans are humble people in defeat and in their good days.
they might have been a small cricketing nation, but hey after all they kick *** of the Aussies and won the world cup in 96 well if that doesn't prove anything, those who think otherwise are really sad.

Yes I think they are legends. And they are in 4th place but they will be no1 very soon. very dangerous team to play. no one can imagine what they do in there matches. recently they have won all the games and they are the one who invent fastest way to score in first 15 overs. ohhh man they are dynamites. I love that country. They can beat any team specialy austrailia. and other teams like india england etc is no match with them sri lankan wont take long time to defeat those countries. they will win 2007 world cup definiately. there are alot of best players like sanath jasooriya, sangakara, mahela, murali, vaas, they simply great. cheers mate. good luck
