I have made a tentative ID as a modern Southdown.

These sheep are not on the original wild downs. They were on the
richer Adur valley (the levels), which probably has a layer of
alluvium over the chalk bedrock. Sussex, England.

Thanks for the other sheep replies earlier.

Doesn't look quite like a Southdown, there's not enough wool round the face. It's not a Texel either as some people have suggested as they have no wool on their heads.

It has a Texel look about it, it might even be a Texel cross, but to me it's face does not look white enough for a pure Texel.It could even be a Poll Dorset.
It is not a Border Leicester, they have a "Roman " nose.

Look to me like a Border leiscester. Farmer close to my home breeds them.
