Usually alternative medicine is treatment that may involve herbs and vitamins instead of prescription medicine. The Germans are real big on herbal medicine and have done much research on it. You can even get a PDR of herbal medicine from a good book store. Also treatments like acupuncture would be considered alternative. Or you might go to a holistic healer instead of a regular doctor.
