Because the government have taken over the role of parent. Our children are taught sex education from an early age in school. So by the time they are teenagers they want to know what all the fuss is about, and unfortunately they soon discover it is not all it is made out to be. Once my children started senior school, i removed them from sex education and took over my self. After all is it appropriate for a 13yr to learn how to put on a condom. Parents need to keep better control of their kids, know where they are, and what they are doing. A few years ago when my oldest son was 13yr, he thought it was funny to talk about sex all the time, thought it was easy to have a baby, thought sex would be great, after all his friends said they had done it(yeah right). I was pregnant with my 5th and when i went into labour, he was present, he saw the whole thing. After i had the baby, he told me he was gonna wait till he was married before having kids. And he started to have alot more respect for girls. I firmly believe in curing the lust before it starts.

The problem is we don't have enough sex education.
In Holland, the whole subject of sex is far more open, prostitution is legal, they have red light districts and brothal as you mention in your question. As a result of this, the youth of Holland are very well educated about sex and its consequences.

Here in Britain, with our stiff upper lips and British reserve, sex is unfortunately still treated as a dirty word. People don't like to discuss it freely. Many parents complain when their children come home from school and mention some of the things they have been taught in sex-education, they believe it strips their children of their innocence and 'ruins' their childhood. In fact quite the opposite is true. If your children understand the consequence of having sex, they're less likely to go ahead and try it. Nothing ruins a childhood faster than an unplanned pregnancy after all !

I for one believe that educating our children about sex, and the physical and emotional consequences can only be a good thing.

As the youth of today do not get the same sex education classes as other countries get. Also parents are less open about sex over here than they are in other countries so teens want to experiment what they know practically nothing about,

So what? I don't see anything wrong with teen pregnancy. I think britain's teenagers are growing up fast and most of them growing more mature. In amsterdam teens are more exposed to sex so its just like an everyday thing so people's general idea is let's have lots of sex but always use condoms/ the pill. where as over here people are wanting to start families earlier due to the scare of miscarriage with the over 25s in Britain. I'm a pregnant teen but I know I can support this baby,I have the support of my partner and we are about to move to a house in the countryside - I think all this hype about teen pregnancy getting higher in UK and what the government should do to reduce this is a load of crap... If teens want to have babies and they know they can support it when why not??!?!

I think the trouble is the lack of education in the first place. With this lack of education has brought a generation of young mothers who then do not educate their children properly. Children shouldn't be mothers. They are not ready in a lot of ways. When these offspring of children grow up, they are more likely to follow in the footsteps of their mothers and the vicious circle begins.

im 19, when i was at school, i only had 1 sex education class, which was 1/2 an hour long and in which they told us that using condoms is better than not using them. then they handed out free flavoured condoms to every girl and left us to blow them up and be really immature. as for amsterdam, maybe the girls see these women dancing about in thongs under a neon spotlight and realise their self worth

Parents and discipline. We are lacking both in this Country. Put those into the equation along with a respect for other people and you have a society that works like all the others in Europe.

you have quite a few questions here. regrettably there's a statistic that shows that there are as many "committed chrisitian babies" who become pregnant out of wed lock as non christian babies. this might point out one to 2 issues- that people who're chrisitians do no longer prepare their christianity to their sexuality or that they do no longer take beginning administration meassures because of the fact 'premeditated intercourse" looks greater of a sin to them than being swept away by ability of the 2d. An opinon on your different question approximately human beings in detention center interior the U. S.- the international locations you pronounced have very strick, consistantly enforced gun administration rules. In my state interior the southern US, i can purchase and attack rifle at a gun and knife teach with waiting or exhibiting any identity. upload decrease priced liquor to which you have people who will finally end up in penitentiary- because of the fact we've the right to undergo arms , we additionally get the "appropriate" to get stupid and shoot one yet another.
