Yeah...I mean he may have been Lord of the Jungle, but notsomuch on the Mensa testing, I think...
"This...convertible."
"No dear, that's a banana."
"Hmm. This...three and three-eighths socket wrench."
"That's a vine."
"This...Cheetah."
"Oh come on now darling, this is just silly. I mean by all means if you want to put this chimpanzee in a foot race with the fastest land animal ever evolved, fine, but don't say I didn't warn you when the vultures laugh in your face..."
"This...Jane...sofffft...yummmmmmy...."
"Oh Lord, here we go again..."

So, hence, what Sluggo is trying to say is that before Jane, was Cheetah...eeewwww.
I can see how Tantor came about, his name is self explanatory. Maybe that is how Cheetah's name came about. It could be Onomatopoeia. They were named for the sounds they made.

Together they embody the proverbial principle to "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". The three monkeys are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil. Sometimes there is a fourth monkey depicted with the three others; the last one, Shizaru, symbolizes the principle of "do no evil". He may be covering his abdomen or crotch, or just crossing his arms. (NOTE: In English, the monkeys' names are often given as Mizaru, Mikazaru, and Mazaru. It is not clear how the last two names changed from the Japanese originals.)
