Item #1, you do not ever, and I do mean never, clean a coin.

Item #2, If you are thinking about cleaning a coin, and have ignored item #1, please start pounding your head on the wall.

Item #3, If somebody is telling you that I am wrong, and that you should clean your coins dispite my 27 years in this field, start pounding thier heads on the wall.

Item #4, Go to a book store, buy a magazine called "Coin Prices", which costs about $4, first read the section on grading, after that the book is quite simple.

Itemk #5, Please realize that most coins, regardless of age, are not worth a whole lot.

Item #6, Good Luck

If u live in a state then u must have been heard of some nice detergents. Take about one-fourth of detergent on a wet old cloth. Then rub it against each & every coins. As far as I know even if the coins r of 10,000 years back, they have years (when made) carved on them. By this way u can find the age of the coins. If u want 2 put prices on them then the most old coins must have more prices than others.

Describe them and I can help. Coin and the word antique are not used together, by the coin collecting community. Don't want to do that take them to a coin dealer.

the best thing to do is to take lots of very good pictures, sell like items together, dont' sell dissimilar items together, and then start them like at 99 cents and let people bid. If you do a good job with the photos they should do ok. Thats what I do, and for the most part I do ok. If you start the bidding high, you will limit what you will get for them. details are most important, and don't sell coins from Lithuania and Tahiti in the same lot. etc. You have to think about your audience and who is buying what.

If they are silvere dollars start at $9.99, other silver coins 5Xface or 5X.10=50 cents. Remember ebay is not free.
Indian cents start at .99. Lincoln cents wheat backs start at .99 a roll. Old nickles better datres .99. Usually coins sell at relative value in other words don't expect to get rich.

take the coin(s) to your local coin dealer.let them determine if its real or fake and ask for a buy/sell quote to detemine real value but do not sell the to them because of their overhead they will buy low and sell high .CAUTION-do not try to clean your coins yourself you may devalue the coin severely.get involved with you local coin club to learn more.
