I get a message saying the service is unavailable and I should try again later... this has been happening for months... I can still sign in to my hotmail account...

Check your id, check your pass ward.These are case sensitive. It means if you had given your pas ward and/or id in capital letters then you have to type capital letters only to be recognised and vice versa.

go back to the old msn messenger 7.5.0
cause the live messenger is too bad
i tried to download it, the always when i come online the messenger sign out always
so it's to bad

have you tried yahoo messenger...it supposedly compatible now....
