1. Nowhere in literary history will you find a boy so blighted, so miserable yet rich as Harry Potter.
2. He survived a murderous assault by a brain-dead sorcerer with an extremely stupid name - Voldemort. ( yuck , I wouldn’t even call my dog as Voldemort)
3. A man called Albus Dumbledore is his hero. ( He’s got waist length beard which he can’t cut because they are stronger than steel.)
4. He goes to a school called Hog-Warts. ( All the Hogs at that place are full of Warts.)
5. He flies a broomstick. ( What happened to high velocity jet-fighters..?! )
6. He becomes invisible by wearing an invisibility cloak. ( Why though ? Is he ashamed of his appearance ?)
7. He has a lightning shaped scar on his head. ( Imagine being famous because your skins been sliced open..)
8. He uses a magic wand to cast spells ( What did you expect… a magic turnip ?! )
9. He hates a greasy teacher called Snape. ( Yeah , and he can talk to snakes )
10. His friend , Ron Weasly , has a jumbo sized family. ( Maybe Harry thought that he could squeeze in and nobody would notice because of the crowd. )
11. He protected the Philosopher’s Stone. ( What about the stones of the doctors, nurses , writers and engineers ? Who’s gonna protect them ?)
12. He speaks Parseltongue ! ( Whazzat ?! Parcel what? I didn’t know he could take to parcels !)
13. He was raised by his nasty aunt and uncle. ( Who else do you think would have raised him ? A couple of rabid wolves ? He ain’t Mowgli !)
14. He’s been wearing that same pair of spectacles for the last 8 years ! ( I thought that he had a lot of money , then why doesn’t he buy a new pair…? )
15.He’s got the biggest fan following of all time ! ( No wonder he always appears so windswept )
16. His cousin is a boxing champ ! ( Ahhh , all those years of punching Harry finally paid off. )
17.His wand has a core of phoenix feather .( Thank god it ain’t dragon heartstring. Or else he would have been called as Parry Hotter )
18. He killed a basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets. ( What else would he have killed ? A mosquito !? )
19. He was put in Gryffindor house . ( Why ?! Because the White House wouldn’t take him , silly! )

The best proof would come from book sales. Harry Potter is still selling decently for a series which is over 10 years old. The last book sold 44million units. That known you could probably assume the rest of the series sold that if not more. The hunger games Trilogy has around 26million units out there, and probably 10 million or so units on the individual books. Harry Potter is by far more popular than the Hunger Games when it comes to book sales... Movie wise, the last harry potter film pulled in $1.3 billion in ticket revenue, which puts it in a solid 4th place spot, recently displaced from 3rd by The Avengers. The first movie alone has grossed nearly $1billion dollars. The Hunger Games has grossed about $400million in theaters, which is nearly $100million more than Harry Potter did, but considering the target demographic its not surprising considering Twilight did the same thing.

Harry Potter is famous for the unbelievable imagination and a thoroughly ejoyable story. Its all about wizards and the world of magic.
Do read the book and start reding from book-1. You'll not stop untill u have finished all the books!!

The movies are famous because they are good. The books are famous because they are great. He is famous in the book because he is the only know surviver of the killing curse.

cuz the books are great and very interesting and the movies are great,too...but books are much better,ofcourse!and children and teenagers around the world read harry potter,because they find themselves in those books and many ppl like "harry potter"...

Are you asking the reason why in the story he is famous even before he started at Hogwarts. Because he is the only one to survive Voldemorts' killing spree with little injury save a scar.

harry is famous because snape hates harry's father. snape told voldermort that teh prophecy stated that harry is the one who will conquer him. voldermort went after him while he was only a year old to defeat the prophecy. instead, he killed harry's dad and mom. because the mom died to save him, harry was magically protected. not only did he survive the killing curse, he sent it back on voldermort and voldermort disappeared. he's famous for being the one who vanquised voldermort.

Well because he play quite a BIG part, and the movie is like SUPER FAMOUS right now. And like a lot of ppl think he is like cute and hot but seirously he is not!!! Hahahah!! Do u like him?
I used to be like in love with him. But now i dont see anything so special in him, you know what i mean?

because it is interesting and it makes people escape reality for a little while... i also think it is famous with teenagers because you and almost relate to the real life situations that they go through
