If this is what you mean (hope it is) get 2 sections of material I used two peices of fleece matieral 6 feet long x 4 feet wide. Lay them together (one on top of the other) on a large table or the floor worked fine for me. Grab a GOOD sharp pair of sissors, now you can start. In each of the four corners your gonna cut a 4 inch by four inch sqaure out (so the corner wont come to a point anymore) Then your gonna cut starting from your new corner every 2 inches 4 inches down. (make sure your cutting both peices of fabric) when all four sides are all cut take the top fringe and tie it to the bottom fringe. double knot and when all the fringe is tied to gether you have your self a tie blanket. They are fun to make and this is the best way I could explain it. I will try to find a picture for you.

Is that where you cut 1"wide x 4" long pieces into fringe and then tie the fringe? You have to have 2 layers of material to do this, one on top of the other. Tie the top fringe piece to the bottom fringe piece (knot) all the way around the blanket. Make sure you cut equal fringes or it won't work out. Are you using fleece? The ties hold.

Two layers of fleece is the best fabric I have found to do this plus it make a nice "reversible" blanket. Place fabric wrong sides together. Make sure both pieces are cut the same size (3 - 4 inches added to each side of your desired finished size...depending on how long you want the fringe to be). Cut a 3 or 4 inch square out of each corner then cut 3 or 4 deep cuts (to math the depth of your corner) every 1 inch. Rectangular ones are great for lap throw for elderly or people in wheelchairs.

If you mean a patchwork quilt made out of ties you might try looking up quilting for ideas and designs. I have also seen braided rugs made out of ties that make nice blankets for pets. Being unsure of what you mean I hope to have helped somehow. Good Luck!

Yes simple you take a blanket and tie it up into millions of little knots. Good Luck.
