My birthday is today, friday, the 13th, people think its very unlucky. Some of my friends think im going to die today and are sad....

My husband and I has found on numerous occasions that the number 13 brings us luck.
People are just "scared" because other people told them so, not by own infliction!!

Friday, October 13, 1307. King Philip of France, in concert with Pope Clement (the Papacy was in France at that time) orders the arrest, trial and execution of all members of the Knights Templar that can be found.
This gave rise to the superstition surrounding Friday the 13th.
The number 13 has been considered both lucky and unlucky by many different civilizations and cultures, although most believe it was the pagans who attached the most significance to this number.

superstition from years ago claimed Friday the 13th was a bad luck day, just like a widow was not allowed on the ship[pirates and merchants ]believed it was bad luck and the ship would shrink and everyone would die..never was any proof just old wives's tale....some people still believe it....have you ever heard that hotels and high rise buildings, both commerical and apartment buildings do not have a 13th floor. the high rise buildings go from 1st floor to the 12th and the next floor is the 14th floor, another silly tale....most people now do not believe this and i sure do not....

Irrational fear of the number 13 has a scientific name: Triskaidekaphobia. If you think that's difficult to pronounce, try pronouncing the name for the fear of Friday the 13th: Paraskavedekatriaphobia. LOL. Anyway, Wikipedia has a nice article about the fear and its possible origins.

Me and my husband were talking about this , this morning saying how stupid it was. Then we got up and went to feed the cats, one was missing for ages....and I started to think omg, fri 13th!!!!
He turned up within the hour! Ha. So it shows how easy it is to attribute anything bad that happens on fri13ths to the date!
So now me gonna think fri 13th is a LUCKY day and me see what happens!
