I started to grow live plants in my aquarium and i want to know what kind of lighting or lights you need for them. Is there a specific kind of lights i need to buy. I hope someone can help me out here.

There are specialist lights that are designed specifically for aquarium use (like flora glo) but most planted tank hobbyist prefer to use daylight bulbs only, these are your typical bulbs that you find in most hardware stores.

There are more things to consider then just the type of light to use, usually if not all the time, it is better to have more lights then less of the best kind of light.

Plants need more then light, there are a lot of articles in the internet regarding keeping plants in aquariums, search for the basics of "planted tanks".

http://www.rexgrigg.com/ <-- this is a quick example that i could think of right now.

You could also try joining planted tank forums and ask questions there, im sure more people would be able to help you.

hope this helps.

If you can find it, Flora-Glo by Aqua Glo is superb.

We use them in our store plant display.
