I have been ill for the past week. Went to Doc & he did a chest xray because my chest was hurting. The xray he said showed bronchitis. This is very difficult for me to believe my chest & back hurts I've been coughing, but bringing nothing up. Been on antibiotics for the past 4 days & still have a temp of 102.2 just last night. Just wondering if I am so dehydrated that I hurt & my temp is still up. (Only up at night, comes down to 99.6 - 100 during the day.) I do realize I haven't felt very well lately & perhaps have not been drinking as well as I should. Sometimes I just don't think of it or don't want to because I want to sleep feeling so bad. I would appreciate any input y'all may have to perhaps help me. Thank You. PS. I have started to drink Power Ade just about an hour ago.

your bronchitis has probably turned in to pneumonia and you should go to the emergency room.

Listen to this lady. She knows what she is talking about. I nearly died 10 years ago of pneumonia which had exactly your symptoms. Don't screw around with this. Do what she said. ER Now.Oops!! Never mind. Dr. Frank has arrived to save the day!! I don't get it though, a doctor telling a sick person on line to just lie down, and not see a doctor?? Go ahead and guzzle down that power ade, kid, and if the fever persists say, for six months, go jogging and sweat it out.

Yes, a high temperature, increased heart rate and headaches are symptomatic of dehydration. But if you are so miserable and apparently aware of dehydration, why don't you go to bed, drink fluids instead of spending time on the computer. I am fairly certain that you are not following your doctor's advice. We often admit patients with a temperature of over 101. especially with a diagnosis of Bronchitis. Normal febrile states tend to be opposite of what you have said.

One way to find out--drink more water ! Grab tall glass of water, add a couple of shakes from the salt shaker, stir with another glass of orange juice, and sip from that for the next two hours.

Or, go on with your Powerade, Gatorade, or other man--made product.
