I must agree with Goldfish and Bigal, this is a very westernized city and the original casaba (old town-fort) was leveled by a catastrophic earthquake in Feb. 1960 that has claimed more than 20,000 lives and leveled every structure in town. So the oldest building is 1960 and later. Not the cultural tourist dream. Having said that, however, I may wish to add that the periphery areas are beautiful and the beaches are excellent. This makes it a summer destination. Empty during winter so hotels really offer reduced prices, therefore I imagine you got a very tempting holiday package offer at hand. But it will be useless this time of the year you will not be able to sunbathe or swim. I recommend Marrakesh for a Christmas destination.

Hi, well, if you want a cultural Xmas Holiday then Agadir is not for you, however, if you are not looking for such thing and you only want to spend your Xmas holiday as you would in Europe, then Agadir might be a very good place to be, also Agadir is famous for its new year nights, and in almost in every hotel there would be a huge celebration... and if you are lucky you might a couple hot days which will give you a good chance for sunbathing, surfing, jet ski etc...
As you might know, hotels on the beach would have on top of their own swimming pools, a private beach with good facilities etc...
Therefore you can enjoy your Xmas and get some sun tan and beach activities...
There is no sea in Marrakesh, however it's so far a top tourists haven in Morocco, and it is designed to suit everybody's needs all year round. Negative point: There is no sea in Marrakesh, but beautiful nature, and surrounding white peak mountains.

Was there in 1997. Lots of package tourists, particularly Germans. Quite an ugly town and not like the rest of Morocco. Has been turned into a package tour hell. Much better places further north up the coast or head inland to see the real Morocco.
The advantages of Agadir is that it has a international airport and one can often book cheap (charter) flights from Europe for a short break.

It was awful! The original town was flattened by an earthquake in the sixties so everything is concrete. My girl blistered her heel in new shoes, flies got into the cut and she was seriously infected, and the final straw was very serious food poisoning which left me 28 pounds lighter after a week.Go to any other Morrocan town or city but avoid Agadir !

Marrakesh is a town that sums up every one of Morocco's spectacular North African elegance, notice it with hotelbye . The city's title presented the root for the name of the country it self, punctuation out this town's significance down the ages. Within the bustle of the town key you'll find old and new clashing and blending, that may produce some tourists almost dizzy. Snake charmers and easy store touts equally compete for your interest amid a loud, vibrant bustle that encapsulates Morocco's lively soul. For a lot of readers, Marrakesh's labyrinth Medina (Old City) section could be the town's star attraction. The slim alleyways are a kaleidoscope of colours, smells and sounds. Is bound to be the sightseeing highlight of one's journey; as well as the merely wandering is intended to bustling maze.

this town in morocco has become very westernised, so if you are really looking for moroccan culture don't go there, go to another town in morocco where you will enjow the moroccan culture. too many westerners in Agadir who live as if they were still in their country.
