The town lies within Edgefield County. The population was 4,449 at the 2000 census.

Edgefield has a Federal Prison there, nice community, nice hunting area, close to mountains, lakes, and about 3 hours to beach. The last I knew there were no big shopping malls in that town, Anderson, S.C. is close for shopping, but it is very beautiful country.

Nothing. But I know quite a bit about Greenville, Mauldin, Clemson, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Mt Pleasant.

Their most famous resident was Strom Thurmond. The town is home to Strom Thurmond High School. That's all I got.
